1. God’s Purpose: God created us with a purpose and a plan in mind. He loves us and wants us to have a relationship with him.
Romans 5:1, “…we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Ephesians 1:11, “In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will.”
2. Man’s Problem: All of us are sinful. Our sins keep us away from God!
Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 6:23, ” For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
3. The Great Exchange: God loved the world so much that he sent his only Son, Jesus into the world to die on the cross for our sins. Jesus took away all of our punishment so we don’t have to suffer eternal damnation. Because of what Jesus did for us, we can experience peace with God.
1 John 4:9, “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.”
Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
2 Corinthians 5:21, “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
4. Your Response: The Bible explains that in order to enter into a relationship with Jesus Christ we have to repent of our sins, have faith in Jesus, and receive him as our Lord and Saviour. When you make the decision to follow Jesus, Christ gives you eternal life.
Romans 10:9, “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
John 1:12, “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”
John 14:6, “‘Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”‘
John 3:36, “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.”
Acts 17:30, “In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.”
Who will you choose to follow?
If you would like to make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life you could pray this prayer:
Dear Jesus,
I am sorry for all of my sins and I confess them to you. Please forgive me. Thank you for dying for me. I believe that God raised you, Jesus from the dead. Today, I am making the decision to follow you for the rest of my life. Be my Lord and my Saviour. Help me to live for you.
In Jesus’ name I pray,
Amen.
